ID Fans & Blowers

Thermodyne Engineering System has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing Industrial blower fans according to the system requirement. We believe that every system has a room for efficiency improvement and it can be increased to a greater extent with proper designing and operation of fans and blowers.

Industrial Fans and Blowers

Industrial Fans and Blowers are at the core of a Steam Boiler system's functioning. They are in charge of all other activities that take place in a boiler, such as fuel combustion, hot gas production, and flue gas transportation via boiler tubes and other equipment.

Depending upon the design of blades and their geometry, there are 2 types of fans that serve the basic function of forcing the air into the system or drawing the air out from the system.

  1. ID Fan(Induced Drafts Fan)

  2. FD Fan(Forced Drafts Fan)

Induced Drafts Fan(ID Fan)

Induced Draft fans are employed in a system to pull flue gases from the combustion chamber to the stack, passing through the rest of the boiler assembly (Air Pre-heater, Dust Collectors, ESPs, and so on). The quantity of flue gases that must be pulled determines the flow, and the head needed to draw flue gases from the system is determined by the total of pressure drops of all equipment in the fan's path.

Forced Drafts Fan(FD Fan)

Forced Draft fans are used to force air into the combustion chamber, where it mixes with the fuel being supplied. The FD fan is used to regulate an appropriate amount of air to fuel ratio in the combustion chamber to maximize the fuel efficiency. The amount of air required for the complete combustion of fuel is calculated using stoichiometry involved during the reaction of the fuel with air.

Both Induced and Forced Draft fans are designed, manufactured, and supplied by Thermodyne for your system. We've also created an online calculator to help clients figure out how much motor power they'll need to run the fan at maximum capacity and head.

Specially designed, high-efficiency fans are offered for all boiler applications:

  • Forced draft & Induced draft fans for Boilers

  • The range varies from 1000 m3/hr to 50,000 m3/hr flow and up to 300°C temperature

  • Can be offered with variable speed controls depending upon specific requirements.

What is ID/FD FAN in Boilers?

These are also referred to as boiler fans or flue gas fans for boilers. Depending on where they are used, forced draught (FD) or induced draught (ID) fans are referred to. As opposed to the FD fan, which is placed in front of the furnace and drives air into it, the ID fan extracts flue gases from the furnace and causes them to exhaust up the chimney.
