Working principle of PCRM
At the same pressure and temperature, 1 kg of steam condenses entirely into 1 kg of condensate. When saturated steam is injected into a process, it releases its latent heat, which is an excessive amount of the total heat it contains. The remaining heat in the steam is preserved as sensible heat in the condensate.
Now that this condensate is added to the feed water from the feed pump, the net temperature of the water entering the Boiler shell is much higher than it would be without the condensate recovery.
For the steam generation, the net energy requirement of the water goes down, leading to less fuel consumption, hence the savings which get compounded every year.
